Slash Reborn

I'm still here even though not active as I used to be. اِ نْ شَآ ءَ اللّهُ I will keep contributing to share small piece of knowledge I had, which I think acceptable by most people around the globe.

So yeah, like most people, it's a complicated thing to describe me. Some might say it's along the lines of being an "acquired taste." Others might more correctly classify it as, "somebody that some people are willing to tolerate." Most likely, I am just inimitable, like many others. But I'll do the best I can to describe myself with words.

I'd say that I am an eclectic amalgamation of many seemingly paradoxical things. This can be exemplified in both my seemingly endless persistence on many topics and arguments, as well as my careful cautiousness on other topics and arguments. This is largely due to how astute I am of the topic: more knowledge, more persistent; less knowledge, obviously more cautious.

Apparently, I may look something like a serial killer or terrorist. Sometimes I can turn and become somebody who like jokes, use my OpenSSH backdoor and pwned your servers, or I can be your personal and sexiest bodyguard depending how you look at me.

So why Slash The Underground
Slash The Underground was a name given by my linux guru, burn or lordburn. My friends called me 'slash' and sometimes 'nullbyte' which is a nickname for me. It's short, clever, derogatory and sometimes considered desirable, symbolising a form of acceptance, but can often be a form of ridicule.

Story of Appreciation

One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company. He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision. The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, Never had a year when he did not score.

The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?"

The youth answered "none".

The director asked, "Was it your father who paid for your school fees?"

The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees.

Aku Anak Kampung Tiada Pelajaran

Memang aku ini
anak orang miskin
tiada apa-apa yang dapat ku berikan
engkau memang cantik
memang tidak padan dan tidak sepadan

aku anak kampung
tiada pelajaran
kuli-kuli sahaja
memang tidak padan
cantik bah kau itu
banyak yang tergoda lagi orang kaya

Tiada kereta ku bawa kau jalan-jalan
rumah ku pun tiada adapun bapa punya
apa lagi belanja mau bayar berian kahwin sama kamu

bukannya ku tidak suka sama kamu
tapi aku takut hidup kau kan sengsara
kerna aku cinta aku lepaskan kau sama orang lain

engkau masih muda cantik lagi menawan
janganlah kau cari lelaki macam saya
engkau memang cantik
nanti kau menyesal tiada guna 3x

tiada kereta ku bawa kau jalan-jalan
rumah ku pun tiada adapun bapa punya
apa lagi belanja mau bayar berian kahwin sama kamu

bukannya ku tidak suka sama kamu
tapi aku takut hidup kau kan sengsara
kerna aku cinta aku lepaskan kau sama orang lain

Playing For Change

Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world. Playing For Change also created a separate non-profit organization called the Playing For Change Foundation which builds music schools for children around the world.

The project started in 2004 with the organization's self described goal to "inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music". The creators of the project, Mark Johnson and Enzo Buono, traveled around the world to places such as New Orleans, Barcelona, South Africa, India, Nepal, the Middle East and Ireland. Using mobile recording equipment, the duo recorded local musicians performing the same song, interpreted into their own style. Among the artists participating, or openly involved in the project, include Vusi Mahlasela, Louis Mhlanga, Clarence Bekker, Tal Ben Ari (Tula), Bono, Keb' Mo', David Broza, Manu Chao and Grandpa Elliott.

The project's first single "Stand by Me", began with a Santa Monica street performer named Roger Ridley (now deceased). The duo traveled the world, recording more and more musicians. All of these versions were considered for mixing a pastiche final version.

Save Palestine

Maghrib Khamis dibasuhnya baju
ampaian di luar jendela
Berinjak kakinya doakan rambulan
keringkan jemuran
Rindu hanya satu
esok solat jumaat
ingin doa mengadu diri yatim piatu

Ooo

Malam pun larut
Khan Younis terlena di pintu

Wooo

belum pun subuh
api menyambar
lebur kaca jendela
maut menceroboh
mayat masih di situ
jari merah kecil
erat menggenggam baju basah
airnya mandikan Gaza..

erat menggenggam baju basah
airnya mandikan Gaza...

Khan Younis
doamu tulus oooh
Khan Younis!

Bed of Roses

Al-Fatihah...

Today, I missed all the wonderful journey and experience with my brother. He thought me everything he could. Sometimes we played guitar together and sing a song. Our favorites song was Bed of Roses by Jon Bon Jovi that we dedicated to somebody important on his life. I misses you so much Bro, May Allah put you with all the Solehin. Amin.

"Bed of Roses" is a rock song released by Bon Jovi in 1993, taken from the album Keep the Faith. The song's power ballad style made it a worldwide hit, and it demonstrated the band's new, more mature sound after their success as a glam metal band in the 80's. Released as a successful single in 1993, it reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, #13 in the UK Top 40 and #10 in the German Top 100.

Jon Bon Jovi wrote the song in a hotel room while suffering from a hangover, and the song reflects his feelings at the time. The song contains drawn out guitar riffs and soft piano playing, combined with emotive and powerful vocals by Jon to create a power ballad love song. The line"as I dream about movies they won't make of me when I am dead" is indicative of the central theme of rugged existence interwoven with soaring hopes at the same time.

Happy 50th Independence Day Malaysia

Every 31st of August every year, it is the day when all Malaysian come together to celebrate their nation’s Independence Day - some of us call it National Day. This year Malaysia will again celebrate the birthday - 50 years Independence to be exact from Japanese and British colonize.

Malaysia has come a long way to come to where its now - a modern nation full of vibrant, colorful culture and people. From a nation that depends so much on agriculture to a developing country full of promise in many areas of the economy. Malaysia has achieved so many things over the years.

Today, I am calling out to all Malaysian bloggers - let us show some love to our nation and display our patriotism on our blogs. Let us be proud to be Malaysian and show the same pride, courage and honor like our 'Bapa Kemerdekaan' Tunku Abdul Rahman and all the previous Malaysian citizens during their time.

Perjuangan Yang Belum Selesai

Sesungguhnya tidak ada yang lebih menyayatkan
dari melihat bangsaku dijajah
Tidak ada yang lebih menyedihkan
dari membiarkan bangsaku dihina

Air mata tiada ertinya
sejarah silam tiada maknanya
sekiranya bangsa tercinta terpinggir
dipersenda dan dilupakan

Bukan kecil langkah wira bangsa
para pejuang kemerdekaan
bagi menegakkan kemuliaan
dan darjat bangsa
selangkah beerti mara
mengharung sejuta dugaan

Biarkan bertatih
asalkan langkah itu yakin dan cermat
bagi memastikan negara
merdeka dan bangsa terpelihara
air mata sengsara
mengiringi setiap langkah bapa-bapa kita

Tugas kita bukan kecil
kerana mengisi kemrdekaan
rupanya lebih sukar dari bermandi
keringat dan darah menuntutnya

Lagi pula apalah ertinya kemerdekaan
kalau bangsaku asyik mengia dan menidakkan,
mengangguk dan membenarkan,
kerana sekalipun bangganya negara
kerana makmur dan mewahnya,
bangsaku masih melata
dan meminta-minta di negaranya sendiri

Bukan kecil tugas kita
meneruskan perjuangan kemerdekaan kita
kerana rupanya selain memerdekakan,
mengisi kemerdekaan itu jauh lebih sengsara

Bangsaku bukan kecil hati dan jiwanya
bukankah sejak zaman berzaman
mereka menjadi pelaut, pengembara
malah penakluk terkemuka?
Bukankah mereka sudah mengembangkan sayap,
menjadi pedagang dan peniaga

selain menjadi ulama dan
ilmuan terbilang?
Bukankah bangsaku pernah mengharung
samudera menjajah dunia yang tak dikenal
Bukankah mereka pernah menjadi
wira serantau yang tidak mengenal
erti takut dan kematian?
Di manakah silapnya hingga bangsaku
berasa begitu kecil dan rendah diri?
Apakah angkara penjajah?
Lalu bangsaku mulai
melupakan kegemilangan silam
dan sejarah gemilang membina empayar

Tugas kita belum selesai rupanya
bagi memartabat dan
memuliakan bangsa
kerana hanya bangsa yang berjaya
akan sentiasa dihormati

Rupanya masih jauh dan berliku jalan kita
bukan sekadar memerdeka dan mengisinya
tetapi mengangkat darjat dan kemuliaan
buat selama-lamanya

Hari ini, jalan ini pasti semakin berliku
kerana masa depan belum tentu
menjanjikan syurga
bagi mereka yang lemah dan mudah kecewa

Perjuangan kita belum selesai
kerana hanya yang cekal dan tabah
dapat membina mercu tanda
bangsanya yang berjaya

Wish You Were Here

Pink Floyd song cover by Marty Casey. This song reminds me to my family and my home town.

So... so you think you can tell, Heaven from Hell, blue skies from pain.. Can you tell a green field.. from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade.. your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange.. a walk on part in the war, for a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.....
